Description

This should be marked future. Eventually V4 and V5 headers might be used by
image programs in bitmaps. Basically they store bitmap and png files inside the
bitmap structure. Therefore, when this happens we can throw in support for it by
slightly decoding the data and sending it to the jpeg and png decoder. There is
no need to implement it now as no images are stored as of yet in this format. If
someone wants to implement it then feel free :-)

I will grab this bug myself so it doesn't add to anyone's bug list.

Brian - I'm assuming you're not doing this anymore.

We're not looking to increase our supported feature-set for bmp in any way (we'd probably remove BMP if we didn't need it for favicons). Marking WONTFIX.
