User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0 Build ID: 20140923175406 Steps to reproduce: I changed nothing Actual results: Incoming mails do not show up in the "incoming mail" list (Posteingang) on top. When I go first to "sent mail" list (Gesendet) and then to "incoming mail" list, the new mail appears on this list. Expected results: Like before, new mail/s should appear on top of the "incoming mail" list.
I have seen this bug very frequently in the past, but always randomly and not reproducible, and not recently... Konstantin, does this happen *every* time when downloading new messages?
Summary: Incoming e-mails are not automatically shown on top of the "incoming mail" list. I firs have to klick "sent mail" and then "incoming mail" and then the newe mail/s appear on the list → Incoming messages not automatically shown on top of inbox message list, only appear after deselecting and reselecting inbox in folder list.
it happend after many years of using Thunderbird suddenly and then it it happend every time when new mails are downloaded. I downloaded a new Thunderbird version and all was o.k. again. Last week it happened again and I corrected it again by actualisation to the most recent version.
do you still see this issue when using a newer version?

I have a strong suspicion that this bug is still happening but it's not clear why and when. Maybe depending on selection and/or sleep mode.
I began seeing this bug in TB 52.0 after updating from 38.x. It seems to be related to receiving a message that is a member of a message tree. Perhaps this bug is related to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1355195 as well?
