User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0 Build ID: 20141201162954 Steps to reproduce: 1) Put the focus in the address bar 2) Pressed the TAB key to focus in the next field (search bar usually) 3) Pressed TAB further, focus went into the icons of new search engine suggestion bar Actual results: It was not possible to TAB out of search engine suggestion bar since focus is looped inside it. Expected results: Focus should have left the search bar and travel further into the interface and the document.

Pressing the escape key will close the search panel and let the tab key move the focus outside of the searchbar. See also bug 1104142 which was about a specific case of this.
I think this is wontfix, but Philipp should confirm.

The patch I just attached to bug 1104142 (mostly for discussion at this point) possibly fixes most of this.
This was fixed in bug 1104142.
