The netops team plans to upgrade both core switches in the SCL3 data center as well as fw1.scl3.
We plan on doing this work as part of the TCW in 12/20.

Expected impact: any host that is single homed to one core switch in SCL3 will be unreachable while that core switch is upgraded. (we saw this in PHX1 when we upgraded a core switch there) Upgrading the firewall may result in loss of connectivity for huge tracts of resources in the data center during the upgrade.
(sorry)

A note on the other big pieces of gear in the SCL3 data center:
We'll be replacing the border routers in SCL3 with bigger/badder routers soon, which will result in a code upgrade there, and the releng core and firewall were upgraded in the recent past due to hardware failures there.
