User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0
Build ID: 20141125180439

Steps to reproduce:

1. Alt-H (to access the Help menu) -> About Firefox
2. Selected "Get Involved", which took me to the page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/contribute/
3. Selected the blue button on the website that says "Get Involved", which took me to a page with a list of ways in which one can contribute.

Actual results:

Not exactly if it was after step 2 or step 3, but the previously paused HTML5 video in the youtube page (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tuK0sk_D1M), which was a pinned tab, started playing automatically. See attachment to check out how the youtube html5 video controls look like at this instant.

Expected results:

The HTML5 video shouldn't have played automatically.

I'm not able to reproduce this problem. But, I've had youtube html5 videos play automatically once or twice in the recent past.
EDIT: I'm not able to reproduce this problem (intentionally) because I believe there's more to how it's happening than merely walking through the steps I've listed out.

Still seeing this issue?
I've observed a similar issue under Windows 7. If a Youtube video is paused in a background tab, sometimes it will resume playback when I automatically resize the browser window by dragging the titlebar to the right or left edge of the screen. Doing this in Windows 7 resizes the window to fill half the screen, and dragging the title bar away from the edge will return the window to its previous size.

I'm not sure whether this only happens with paused videos in loaded tabs or whether unloaded tabs somehow begin loading (and thus automatically start playing on sites like Youtube) when the browser window is resized in this fashion.

I cannot immediately reproduce this issue but I have experienced it several times.

Most recently experienced the bug on Firefox 44.0

I can file a separate bug report if it would be appropriate.
