As you use the keyboard, the width of the menu changes with each different item. I noticed this while scrolling for query.cgi and passing bug searchs and displays. REPRODUCE: put some wide and short urls in your location bar menu scroll through the list with the keyboard. FIX: Maybe this is a feature, I don't know. However, it should resize based on the max size of the displayed items, not resize by the selected item. Anyway, it is annoying, especially waiting for it to redraw. Another possibility is just making the menu constantly the width of the location field.

You see, this may be good for some people, but I think it is just ugly, and wastes loadtime.

also, Moz 2001112008 just sits there for about 6sec calculating this monster. Note the lack of a scrollbar. Even if I change to one that is just as long, it will still recalculate. It's almost like Swing :-P except Swing only does this once

However, same thing happens on Win98. So, maybe something with interacting with native toolkits (of which gtk is not a member).

This seems to be fixed on Mac as of 2001-11-26-08...could some1 grab a nightly for Windows and resolve this thing?

****, I meant to reassign this to hewitt (for real). At any rate, he did land a fix related to this (making sure that this had a max-width in place). That also appears to have fixed this bug. Worksforme in a current build on win32. reopen if not fixed for you .
