Since v32, Firefox doesn't seem to accept current Adobe Flash Player add-on. It's always marked as being "unsafe" (see screenshot attached).
Possible cause for the error: Wrong update date.
Firefox seems to display/store a wrong update date. I have updated Flash Player a few minutes ago (Dec. 14, 2014), but Firefox reads "Sept. 14, 2014".
Flash is not an add-on, it's a plugin. And the latest version of Flash is 16.0.0.235. Remove the old version of Flash installed on your machine with the tool provided by Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html Then download and install Flash 16.0.0.235.
Component: Extension Compatibility → Plug-ins
Product: Firefox → Core
Thanks. That's been the solution. Strange, though, that Adobe Flash Player (IE11) requested to update yesterday while the Firefox version wasn't updated. I've been assuming that both, IE11 plug-in and FF plug-in, were the same, just with a separate COM interface layer.
