I did a build from scratch and flashed a phone today and was presented with a broken-looking empty home screen with the error from the title in the logcat.

While my build may have broke for other reasons, it's an easy error to fix and it looks like the code kind of half-expects it, but doesn't deal with it completely, so patch incoming.
