Steps to reproduce:

Selecting the address bar to type a new address, or selecting an HTML text area on any website. 




Actual results:

When highlighting the address bar to type a new address, or when using HTML text areas on any website, the box will sometimes turn almost completely blue, as if highlighted. The blue highlight does not completely fill the element, as seen in the attached screenshot. The blue highlight will flicker when typing, and actually highlighting the text will cause it to become invisible with a white background. 

Problem occurs randomly and cannot be reliably reproduced, but occurs multiple times throughout a day. Additionally it happens across multiple versions of Firefox and on at least two different machines with very different hardware.

Problem has been encountered and persisted through multiple versions of Firefox, including Firefox 32, Firefox 33, Firefox 34 and Firefox Developer Edition 36. 

Problem has been encountered on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 Preview.


Expected results:

Address bar and text areas should be selected without blue highlights or flickering.

Update: Highlighting actual text when this bug is occurring does not cause the text to disappear any longer, at least in Firefox Developer 36. Additionally, switching tabs and going back to the problem tab will fix at least the address bar issue.
