Copy due Jan 7. Then we'll get a basic HTML page with strings on demo by Jan 12 for l10n to begin.

Need to note that we keep getting requests for Indonesian, but the team is not in good shape.

Given the size of the content, I'd scrap that locale from the list of must-have.

It's *almost* string-complete, and can be completely string complete by tomorrow (Jan 14) assuming I don't get string-change feedback.

The amount of text to translate is a bit scary given the available time :-\

I'll have a better look tomorrow at the files, but can you split the longest strings in shorter pieces? 

At this point I'll wait for the file to be string completed before extracting strings, exposing only a piece of the file is usually worse, especially for localizers who start working early on it.

That last comma doesn't look right (disclaimer: not native speaker here).

After a second look at the text I confirm what I said yesterday: the amount of text is scary, and apparently not finalized yet. This kind of content shouldn't have just 2 weeks of lead time for translation (hopefully the page will remain online for a while, content seems useful outside of privacy day).

Excluding Indonesian, these are big locales and we should be able to get the translation. Having said that, we should start discussing about the amount of requests we're throwing at our localizers, we're really burning them out. That's not a good sign when I start loosing track of the incoming requests.

Hey

Thanks for adding the missing "if" — definitely just a typo.

I changed the text under Forget Button to read "from 5 minutes to 24 hours" and removed the comma before "too" in the share CTA. All good catches, thanks. But I'm not sure what the "DuckDuckGO paragraph uses the same sentence of Forget button" comment is about. Is that in reference to the copy doc or something else? In the copy doc, those two sections use different text.

I've updated the template with these copy fixes. The '24 hours' reference under DuckDuckGo was just copy-pasta. It is now fixed. Thanks.

Hey Flod, do you know what the status of the team is on es-ES, pt-BR and ru? Looking at https://www-demo1.allizom.org/en-US/privacy/tips/, fr and de seem to be complete but haven't seen anything for the other locales yet.

I was also hoping to extract the "Get Smart on Privacy" string for each language, we need to use it on a Directory Tile but I don't know if the teams have translated it yet, not sure where to look for it either.

For future reference: let's make sure we don't use an existing .lang file for a brand new template.

The new /privacy/tips is using /privacy/privacy.lang, which is the same file that was used by privacy/you (currently still online). It's really confusing to manage (same file, different strings, different set of locales). That also explains why the lang files are currently parked in /stage, and can't be pushed out to /prod until the last minute.
