Attached image Group Policy Error
I'm on Windows 7 and when I try to run an installed web app from the marketplace I get the error:
"This program is blocked by group policy. For more information, contact your system administrator."

The problem is, I *am* the administrator (logged in as administrator).

I actually remember getting this message the first time I tried to run a web app. It was right around when FxOS 1.0 came out.

I don't experience this problem when I use any other applications on my computer (including Firefox).
I did find that if I right click it and "Run as Administrator" it will run - but that's no way to live.
Caspy - Some questions that might help us figure out what's going on here.

Is your machine part of a domain that might have group policies preventing software from running?

Please check the following:
  1) Enter "secpol.msc" into a "run" dialog (Windows key + r)
  2) Under "Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Software Restriction Policies"
  3) See if any items appear in that list

Do you have any anti-virus or anti-malware software? They might be setting policies that prevent these webapps from running

We're also chatting in IRC; feel free to respond there instead

Troubleshooted this with Tim on IRC. Does not appear to be Antivirus. Removing policies does not resolve. Problem still exists, but no foreseeable solutions.
Leaving this here in case others experience it as well.

Hello there! I'm wondering if you are still experiencing this and if you discovered what the root cause was?
Flags: needinfo?(caspy77)
Yes, I am still experiencing this.
No, I haven't found the root of it.

Per bug 1238079, we're going to disable the desktop web runtime and remove it from the codebase, so we won't fix these bugs in it.
