User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0 Build ID: 20141126041045 Steps to reproduce: Installed firefox 34.0.5 in windows 7 professional x64 and restarted the pc. The windows throubleshooter says that windows desktop manager is stopped, but checking the services list, it is started. Tried to restart it, had no success. Actual results: Aero could not be loaded anymore, windows switched to basic theme. Expected results: Aero should be working normally.
I don't see how installing Firefox could have stopped the DWM. That's really not something we do - not the installer, and not Firefox itself. I expect there is some other issue at play here. Try following the steps here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976170 and/or asking Microsoft for support. Please reopen this issue if you manage to fix the issue, and reinstalling Firefox brings it back.
