After bug 11065559 was introduced to improve the search preferences UI, the following features were added, but they tend to not be visible enough for normal users:
- keyword field on the table (hard to spot that a keyword can be added/edited)
- the ability to move search engines position up/down

[:florian] "I'm not sure if it's a bug, or if it's expected that only advanced users would need these features, and they would be able to discover them. You can still file a bug and needinfo UX people to get confirmation."

Reproduced in Firefox 35 beta 5, Developer Edition 36.0a2 and Nightly 37.0a1 - all platforms.
Philipp, is this something you want to improve in the future?

I think we can improve the description to indicate those features.
Drag and drop in lists is common enough that we can expect the people who want it to find it.
As for the keyword, we could show a ghosted version of the field on hover. That would probably lead to some behavior changes though — we'll need to look into it.

Is bug 1138112 a dup of this bug?

Regardless, the UI for Search prefs needs to improve. Adding keywords is not obvious (nor is removing them). Showing some sort of UI indicator which would draw the user to clicking on it to add a keyword is needed.

Reordering the search engines is easy enough once you know how to do it. I believe a simple text message is all that is needed. e.g. "Drag to reorder the search engines."

They are kinda the same yes. Except this bug also mentions the reordering, but per comment 3 ("Drag and drop in lists is common enough that we can expect the people who want it to find it."), this isn't something we'll fix.

Bug 1138112 contains a mockup, so I'll dupe this bug against it.
