When visiting any flash site, Mozilla exits (ie. no crash, the program just quits). This is using the latest flash player (from about:plugins; Shockwave Flash 5.0 r47) for netscape (libflashplayer.so), on a Redhat 7.1 PC, with kernel build 2.4.12-ac5. I couldn't find anyone with similar experiences.

Fred, did you try a fresh profile? Move your .mozilla directory somewhere safe and try again. What build are you using? Please try with 0.9.6 or a later nightly build.

Hi Diego, Just tried that, and I still get the same result. Forgot to mention I'm using 0.9.6.

Still no problems on the page with 2001121715. 0.9.7 will be out in a few days. Please try that build and report back if you still crash. Also please try to get a talkback enabled build and provide us with a talkback ID. Thanks.

Is this using a 0.9.6 binary package or from a source tarball? If you're compiling, are you using gcc 3? I was having that same problem with Flash, where visiting any site with flash-content would make mozilla just quit without any errors. I posted a bug about java-vm not working and it turns out that the solution someone posted, which was to use gcc 2.9x instead of gcc3, also solved that same problem with Flash that you describe. (See bug 116444 for explanation of how gcc3 was the cause of the problem) Try compiling with gcc 2.9x.

Greetings: I have not built Mozilla yet, I will once I finish upgrading some other software to support some funky hardware, but... I wanted to say that I have this behaviour with Netscape 6.1 and 6.2 but only on one of my computers. I am running: Netscape 6.2.1 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.4) Gecko/20011126 Netscape6/6.2.1 and (on all but the machine in question): Shockwave Flash File name: /usr/local/netscape/plugins/libflashplayer.so Shockwave Flash 5.0 r47 Mime Type Description Suffixes Enabled application/x-shockwave-flash Shockwave Flash swf Yes application/futuresplash FutureSplash Player spl Yes All boxes are running Mandrake Linux 2.2.17-21mdk. The machine that has the problem is running the SMP version. Might this be the cause? Most everything else is consistent between the machines. What varies, varies on all (host name, memory size, processor speed, hardware type). What is consistent, is consistent for all (user id, mount points, etc). All apps were installed from the same places at the same times on all machines. Flash was removed from the Dual Processor system because it caused Netscape to exit. I hope this helps. Just tried mozilla 0.9.7 (build 2001122108), and all appears well again. Just some info: kernel 2.4.12-ac5 with SMP original install was redhat 7.1 using gtk+ 1.2.9-4 (just from a rpm -q -l) If you require any more info, please let me know. Great job on fixing this up (even if by accident) ;-)
