Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/39.0.2171.95 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: Accidentally let my system disk fill up to about within 10Mb of full. Then, try any action involving a folder: deleting mail from the inbox, moving mail from one box to another, sending mail, etc. On getting the error message, googling it lead to http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1007315 which discussed compaction, antivirus/malware and other suggested fixes, none of which actually solved the problem. Actual results: For all folders, a message: The folder XXX is full and can't hold any more messages. Expected results: A message saying the disk is full. This is important because the current error message leads the user to take the wrong diagnostic and fix steps. The right fix is to clear off space on the disk, not compact folders. Note that this is NOT A DUPLICATE of https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=608449 because it has nothing to do with the size of the folders, all of which are less than 4Gb for me.
