Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.6) Gecko/20011120 BuildID: 2001112012 When a link is being dragged (by left-clicking on either the locator box mini-icon or on a link on a page), if the mouse happens to pass over the Bookmarks toolbar item, the entire Bookmarks drop-down menu appears. Assuming that the intention was to drag the link to another Mozilla window, rather than to file it as a bookmark, it seems impossible to get the bookmark menu to close. Even after releasing the mouse, the bookmarks menu remains open. Any combination of clicking and mouse movement won't get the bookmarks menu to close. Shifting to other applications and desktops this bookmarks menu continues to be open and retakes the focus from any other window I try to select. In short, the computer is unusable until I find some way to make this bookmarks menu go away. With some difficulty I can usually get my window manager (Enlightenment/Gnome in Redhat 7.1) to close the Mozilla application (and all its windows). I've had this problem since at least Mozilla 0.9.4 and it's about as frustrating as a browser crash (since I must close the browser to get the drop-down menu closed). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Left-click on mini-icon in Mozilla location box 2. While holding down the left button (to drag), move the mouse over the bookmarks toolbar item (so its drop-down menu appears). 3. Try to continue dragging to another Mozilla window (as bookmarks wasn't the intended destination of the drag) 4. Since the bookmarks menu won't close and retains focus, try releasing the mouse button and any combination of mouse movement and clicks. The menu still won't go away or release focus. 5. Try any other mozilla controls (window close button, menus, other Mozilla windows). None will work. 6. With difficulty get window manager to close the Mozilla application. The bookmarks menu now disappears, together with the rest of Mozilla. Actual Results: The bookmarks drop-down menu (in the toolbar), once opened, remains open and will not close or release focus. Expected Results: When the mouse was moved off the bookmarks menu (or the left mouse button was released) the bookmarks menu should have closed. My configuration: Mozilla release 0.9.6 or 0.9.5 or 0.9.4 (all exhibit problem) Redhat 7.1 Linux Ximian Gnome with Enlightenment window manager
