New mail icon stays on system tray even after Thunderbird quits

Details

Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open Thunderbird and wait to receive some new mails 2. When the "New mail" icon appears on the system tray, DO NOT read mail but quit Thunderbird Expected behaviour: New mail icon goes away. Actually observed behaviour: At this point, the new mail icon will stay on the system tray until we point the mouse cursor to it. Additional info: If we open Thunderbird again but DO NOT read mail, and we quit Thunderbird, a 2nd New Mail icon will stay. We could collect as many New Mail icons as we like in this way.
