1114984 - Unable to make a new search with search activity on HTC Desire S [no magnifying glass on KB]

Build: Nightly 2014-12-23
Device: HTC Desire S

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Search activity
2. Enter some text
3. Tap the return key 

Expected results:
- the return key either turns into magnifying glass and by tapping it the search starts 
- or tapping the return key starts the search

Actual results:
- no search is perform after return key is pressed ( only the KB is closed

Note:
- pls see video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgaeam9zpr8
- if you install other KB will work fine ( tried with Switfkey)
- the return key works fine in browser

It is specific to the device. We tried with Galaxy R also 2.3 but it doesn't reproduce.
