Details
The code which was used on the top frame of derstandard.at causes Mozilla linux
0.9.4mdk (build 2001100112 to hang totally. It might display the central content
frame though.
If you enter <script> after <!-- werbung ende --> mozilla does not hang any more.
You should be able to reproduce the behaviour with the code copied below:

WFM w/0.9.6, linux.
All loads, cept a banner. No hang. There's an evang bug 72806 about the site,
regarding what looks like a menu using layers.

Build ID: 2001 11 20 03. Windows 2000.
No hang. Seems that a banner ad in top left corner is missing (gray rectangle is
rendered).

Confirming with a Mozilla trunk binary 20011126xx WinNT.
OS : Linux ---> All.
Seems to be a Layout issue. Just try loading the top frame alone.
In Mozilla, the layout is completely different from IE6, NN4.7:

On load, no errors appear in JavaScript Console. Reassigning to Layout -

I think this is an Evangelism issue. The site uses very complicated
JavaScript, but makes the mistake of using <LAYER> elements, which
are not supported in Mozilla/Netscape 6. You can actually see this if
you search for this tag in the HTML provided above by the reporter:

etc.
etc.
(even more layers follow this).
This explains the reporter's comment above,
"If you enter <script> after <!-- werbung ende -->
mozilla does not hang any more."
By inserting the <SCRIPT> tag, one changes the <LAYER> from
an HTML instruction to a JavaScript instruction.

and fixed, top frame has dhtml sliding menu that works fine in ns6/moz
