Firefox OS cannot show some of Greek alphabet characters like [ ὤ ]
You can check with this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_alphabet#Computer_encodings
Is this some problem about font fallback?

Screenshot is from a flame device running with flame trunk build. Most characters within the extended Greek range also fail to display correctly.

The coverage of the Greek Extended block in Fira is far from complete, and it doesn't look like any of the other fonts on the device include these characters either.
We should get this block filled out in the Fira fonts, to avoid such issues.

Jonathan, who's "we" in this case? Do we have the correct component for this bug?

It's certainly not a Core:Graphics bug; moving to FirefoxOS.
:patryk (cc'd already) is our liaison with the Fira designers, so I guess he's the "we" who needs to make sure it happens.

This is on our font road map I am hoping we can get this fixed (pending funding approval) in the next few months. I believe the in market devices (2.1 and older) have a fall back so for 2.2.x or 2.3 we should have this solved for Fira.

blocking-b2g: --- → 2.2?

[Blocking Requested - why for this release]: Not blocking for 2.2 based on fall backs in earlier shipping builds, and the fact that this fix is not expected in Fira for another month or so. Nominating for 3.0 so we can ensure support for all languages.

FWIW - I just checked that Wikipedia page on a build from the end of May (which should have the latest Fira font distributed in moztt), and it looks like coverage is better. It's not complete - there are 14 characters not covered, but it's a lot better looking than the screenshot currently attached to the bug.

We have good support now for Greek and Greek Extended. I believe this bug is resolved.

As comment 10 admitted there are still 14 characters not supported. It is better than before but I imagine for someone that reads Greek this is still broken.
Current behavior is the same as attachment 8646474 [details] from comment 11. I'm going to file a separate bug for that.
This issue is verified as half fixed on Flame and Aries.
