>>Project/Request Title:
Firefox Student Ambassador Program Badges
>>Project Overview:
The Firefox Student Ambassador Program is launching a new recognition system with three program levels: Trainee, Junior, and Senior. To reach each level, Ambassadors will have to compete a set of requirements. Once they do, we'd love to have them be awarded with a shiny new badge that correlates to their level.
Because these are program official badges to be awarded to quite a Mozillians, we hope it can be made from the creative team rather than a community member, who may not follow badge design guidelines. Please let us know if you have the bandwidth! Deadline flexible. Thank you guys!

Hi TJ,
I'm wondering if we might be able to use the badge created in bug 943604 as a starting point for this. What do you think?

Hi Jenn! Yes, perfect as a starting point! Also found bug 892580 that created the following designs: https://bug892580.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=779332. The hexagon shape might be more inline with current badge guidelines. Thanks for the quick followup!

Thanks for adding this 2nd bug. I thought there was another, but I couldn't find it. I am assigning this over to Matt.

Hi TJ,
Is there any flexibility on the due date? These are definitely on our radar, but with everything else going on, it would great if we could get a little more time.
Thanks.

Hi Matej,
Totally understand! Is February 12th a doable new deadline? We'd love to show these badges on the 17th. Let me know!

I'll let Matt confirm, but that sounds great to me.
Thanks so much!
Thanks TJ, that timing will work great.

Hi TJ,
Inspired by the previous FSA badges with the fox head silhouette, I've created three levels (senior, junior, trainee) distinguishable by the number of stars and the colour. The idea is to keep them looking similar enough to show that the follow a hierarchy. Here is an example of what they look like > http://cl.ly/image/3C293f0E2T2y
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Hi Matt! Thank you SO much for getting these designed! Initial thought: AWESOME. Got together feedback from the team:
-The colors are a little too similar. We were wondering if we can still play off the whole Bronze (newbie), Silver (junior), and Gold (senior) colors so there's more differentiation.
-We LOVE the stars. Thank you for thinking of that idea!
-Any way we could make these badges a little more 3D? Not as flat and with some shadows. Similar to the ones we had in the past (shown in references).
Let me know what can work/won't work. Thank you again Matt, we appreciate it!

Thanks for the feedback, TJ. We do have pretty tight guidelines with these. Since they have been updated there has been a focus on keeping things simple and iconic. Not sure a 3D look is the way to go here. One thing that I think will offer a compromise, will be the use of some subtle texture lines - like this > http://cl.ly/image/0r071j2V1Q2F . With regards to the colour options, I was hoping that the 3 star levels would offer the unique distinction without relying on gold, silver, bronze. This feels more like placement vs levels. The idea of light orange through red is in keeping with our brand colour palette.

Stay tuned, I would like to share another option before we make our final decision.

I am thinking something a bit more distinct like this could work. The idea is closely tied to the gold, silver, bronze, but I have made use of specific colours in our extended Mozilla colour palette. Let me know what you think.

THANKS SO MUCH Matt for getting the second version out and for meeting halfway with the feedback. Understand we have to follow guidelines & color palette. I think this is GREAT and the only thing is..could we switch the trainee color with the junior? So that trainee is grey, and junior is orange, to get more of a progression. And that's it :). The texture lines were a fantastic add.

No problem, TJ. Here is an example of what it looks like with junior and trainee colours swapped. If all else if good, I can post the Illustrator files here as well.

YES, wonderful!! You are THE BOMB!
You're probably going to do this already but...could we get each individual badge in its own .png? Going to upload and test how it looks on the badge site, but should be perfect :)!
