Massimo, do you see this problem when using versoin 38 beta from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/
Severity: normal → critical
Component: Untriaged → General
Flags: needinfo?(mb.brillante)
Keywords: hang
Summary: browsing addon from the addon manager close thunderbird → browsing addon from the addon manager hangs thunderbird
yes.. as soon as I click on "browse all add-ons then thunderbird IDE close but the process is still opened. Because I am not using thunderbird as my default application, what I'll do is to totally uninstall it and then installing it without any add-ons and see if the problem persist.
what do you think?

sure
If it still hangs, then see https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_with_WinDbg

Massimo, We will need a stacktrace.
Also, if you skip step 1 or 2 does the problem still reproduce?
1. Open add on manager
2. go to Get Add-ons
3. click on More ways to customize -> Browse all add-ons

Hi Wayne,
after latest releases I cannot replicate this issue any more so I think it is safe to close this ticket.
I will mark it as resolved.
