Originally, when the Feed was being built, the operator shelf feed item included a color picker. This was shelved (ha ha) when operators had to have their brand colors.

For a variety of reasons, these brand-specific colors per shelf were added in code.

Because we don't want to require that manual step and we should trust our admins/operators, we should allow them to specify the six-digit form of the desired background color for that operator shelf. This would apply to both transonic and the operator shelf tool alike.
