Until such time as we have an automated test suite, I think that we need to add more stringent lock checking in MozMtpDatabase. I think that we should do the lock checking for both release and debug builds and ensure that reasonable messages are being produced if the lock isn't owned properly. I think that this means that we need to create our own Mutex class which is uses the existing Mutex class but which adds the logging and checking that we need.
