STR: * Open Google Drive. They now have a loader animation which is similar to the Android Lollipop loading animation. What happens: This animation looks pretty bad in Nightly, while it looks much better in Chrome.

This would really benefit from a more reduced testcase. :-(

It's more about the edges of the circularly animating lines being not so smooth (and hence seems like a gfx issue to me) than about the animation. I'll try to get a testcase. This might also just be happening on Windows, though not sure about that.

Can't look there right now, but they look smooth on this OS X retina machine... so it might indeed be windows only. If the edges are jagged, even a simple screenshot comparison would be helpful (+ your about:support graphics info)

(In reply to Saurabh Anand [:sawrubh] from comment #5) > Created attachment 8551286 [details] > Loading Animation Screenshot on Nightly This looks like there's a rotated square clip on top of the circle's fade-y bits, cutting it off on the 3 filled sides. I tried a few times, but I'm having a hard time extracting what CSS/HTML Google is using here, and so equally, it's difficult to figure out why that's happening. :-(

Hi Anand, I didn't managed to reproduce this on the latest release(43.0.2) nor the latest Nightly(46.0a1). The loading animation behaves exactly as on Chrome or IE. User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0 Build ID: 20151221130713 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:46.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/46.0 Build ID: 20151223030323 Can you please try to reproduce this on the latest release(43.0.2) and latest Nightly(46.0a1) and provide the results? When doing this, you could create a new clean Firefox profile, or maybe test in safe mode, as some of this issues may be caused by third party installed addons or custom settings(https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems). Thanks, Paul.
