Details
It would be great if, above the compose area, it would be shown the active dictionary.
I have two dictionaries installed and I have to go to the "Spelling" combo box all the time to see which one is active.

Marco, thanks and good news: this was implemented in the same year you filed it.
Jörg K. implemented showing the spellcheck language in the status bar as part of Bug 368915 (fixed in 2015), only shown if more than one dictionary installed (Bug 368915 Comment 164). I made the status bar display interactive so that you can change the language from there (Bug 1399370, fixed in 2017).
