1122522 - [e10s] Process of Nightly 38 remains active if browser is closed after computer resumed from sleep mode

Reproduced this issue 5 times using two different machines using Nightly 38.
Three times using Windows 8.1 64-bit and two times on Windows 7 64-bit.

Unable to find proper steps to reproduce but this is quite annoying.

What I've did was to use Nightly for about 10 minutes of browser navigation and then locked the computer (entered sleep mode). After system resume, continued to use the browser but not for more than a few minutes and than closed it.
I've noticed that the process remained active when I've tried to open another Firefox version and Nightly was opened instead.

Hard to say if it's a recent regression or not due to not having proper STR.

Anyway, I'll continue to investigate this issue in the next couple of days.

Seems like it only affects e10s and it hardly reproduces so it's quite time consuming. I was unable to reproduce it on Aurora and Beta.
Reproduced with latest Nightly, build ID: 20150118030202 on Windows 7 64-bit.

The STR are simple:
1. Open Nightly and leave it open a few minutes.
2. Lock the computer and let it enter Sleep Mode (I've set up sleep after 5 minutes).
3. Resume from sleep mode and unlock the computer.
4. Wait for about 2 minutes and close Nightly.

With these steps I was able to reproduce the issue 3 times out of 25 tries (so it's very unlikely to reproduce it in the first attempts).

I have had little luck reproducing on  a win8 laptop, but will keep trying. 

For now I don't think we need to block on this, but we should keep it around.

Hi Cornel,

I haven't managed to reproduce this issue on the latest Aurora(46.0a2). I've tested on Windows 7 x64 and Windows 8.1 x64 with e10s enabled. After the system woke up from sleep and I've closed Firefox, the process was also closed in Task Manager. I didn't manage to reproduce this on the latest Nightly nether(47.0a1).
