Starting at this URL: http://www.brownco3.com/visitor/visitor_home.html I click on "» Log on to your account(s)" which opens up this pop-up window: http://www.brownco3.com/brownco/logon/logon_popup.jsp If I enter my correct username and password, the pop-up closes and I'm still sitting at http://www.brownco3.com/visitor/visitor_home.html (and not logged in). I am able to log into Brown and Company with Netscape 4.7 (a secure window opens up with my start account). Galeon 1.0 and Mozilla 0.9.6 both have this exact problem. If I enter an incorrect username or password, I correctly get the failed login page, so it may be necessary to have an account to reproduce this bug. I am willing to do additional work (tcpdumps, etc.) if you need additional information to solve the problem.
Reporter: Can you visit other Https pages ? Have you a ssl tab under edit\preferences\Privacy&Security ? Any errors in the JS console (tasks/tools/JS console) ?
Reporter: > Can you visit other Https pages ? Yes. I am able to log into E*Trade (which uses SSL) for example. > Have you a ssl tab under edit\preferences\Privacy&Security ? Yes. > Any errors in the JS console (tasks/tools/JS console) ? No. The JS console is empty.
Does it work if you enter your username in the error page (wrong password) ?

Daniel, if you're building mozilla yourself, could you test if the patch in bug 109854 fixes this problem, I'm guessing it does. If you're not able to test, please pull a nightly build and test once bug 109854 is fixed (should be in a few days).
I am using Mozilla Build ID: 2001112013 on Linux, using these RPMs downloaded for Red Hat 6.x: mozilla-0.9.6-0.i386.rpm mozilla-psm-0.9.6-0.i386.rpm
quinlan@transmeta.com: Jonny asked if you can retest this with a nightly build. This problem should be fixed in a nightly build. (nightly builds : http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest/)
Reporter, have you had a chance to try this on a more recent build, e.g. 0.9.7 or later?
I can log into my account with Mozilla 0.9.7 and Galeon 1.0.2 as well. Thanks.
