User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0 Build ID: 20150108202552 Steps to reproduce: 1) Used [Tools] [Options] [General] to set Home Page to Google 2) Tried setting Home Page via about:config Actual results: After exiting Firefox, clicking the Home icon it came back to Yahoo. http://search.yahoo.com/?ei=utf-8&fr=tightropetb&type=11039_011615 Same thing happened after using about:config, the about:config setting went back to Yahoo string: http://services.freshy.com/general/newhometab.php?hometab=home&partner=11039&guid={621DBCDF-2519-4EB5-B868-1127A773853D}&i= Expected results: After starting Firefox the Home icon should have gone to Google.

It sounds like you have an add-on and/or malware installed that changes these settings. Firefox itself should always be respecting your homepage settings. I would recommend going to [Tools] [Add-ons] and removing any Yahoo- or "Freshy" related add-ons, or going to Help > Troubleshooting Information, and using the "Refresh Firefox" button there. If that doesn't help, or if they come back, try to remove them via the Windows Control Panel's "Software" list, and if that doesn't help, try using anti-malware or antivirus software to remove the offending programs. Let me know how it goes, please.

Firefox Support Community located the problem. It was NOT an add-on, it was a "user.js" in my Firefox Profile folder. Deleting it solved the problem.
