According to https://github.com/mozilla/layerscope/issues/4, cgjones suggests we can clear layer tree/buffer on reconnects to avoid any confusion.

(In reply to C.J. Ku[:cjku] from comment #1) > I will be working on this Thanks. this bug wants to clear obsolete layers trees/buffer or try to distinguish new layers trees from old ones after re-connection. Besides, if the server doesn't send messages for layers trees on newer frames, we should keep the "layers tree" part blank to avoid any confusion. (I found this problem after you refactor the layerviewer code, so could you please also fix this? Thanks.)
Fixed in https://github.com/mozilla/layerscope/commit/29e16d42f7c617168b79d53bf9ecd47e30d0e39c
