Details

Spammer put fake info in profile, they try to spam the word that they push. Checking that links to github/linkedin goes to actual pages would make their life more complex See https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/profiles/solahartcibubur for a github page leading to a 404. And if they are legitimate, they'll be happy: it is likely a typo they can fix.
This is actually just good best practice anyway, I'd think; confirm that all URLs entered in a profile are valid.
