After upgrading from 0.94 to 0.96 (tar distribution) on Mandrake Linux 7.2,
every time I open a new Mozilla window (browser or MailNews), I disable the
real-estate-hogging sidebar from the View menu. Once I disable the sidebar, it
should stay disabled until I re-enable it instead of every time I open a new
Mozilla window.
Possibly related to this: Every time I open a new MailNews window, all my column
widths have been reset to the default settings, and columns I disabled have been
re-enabled.
can you provide a screenshot?
The sidebar issue may be related to bug 54276 - or is the same as in bug 114621
Whoops. Like I said in the bug description, I upgraded from 9.4 to 9.6... I used
the same ~/.mozilla directory in both. Just this weekend, I was messing with my
system, and moved my ~/.mozilla directory. When I started Mozilla again, of
course my mail and prefs were gone, but I noticed that this problem disappeared
too. So, I left my new .mozilla directory where it was, copied my mail and
bookmarks into it, and updated my preferences manually. So the problem is gone
now... I guess we can close the bug. Sorry to have bothered you with this.
