Pinkish-purple looks awful on teal. Could we pick something slightly less psychedelic please?

This unfortunately regressed bug 1111157, since '#purple' is invalid and so the rule ignored. 'purple' is what we need :-) Wes, would you mind sorting this? (I should have spotted this during review but didn't look closely, since I though it would have been tested locally experimenting with colours etc)
