Try to click on the link "What's New" in mozilla0.9.6 release notes. You'll see the mozilla page icon disappears when th URL changes to http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla0.9.6/#new If the page is refreshed the icon reappears.

Well, refreshing that page doesn't indeed cause the icon to disappear. But if after viewing that page you click on the, say, "What's new" link (or another one of those Contents links) it sure does cause the nice little mozilla icon to disappear from the url bar... I'm using Mozilla 0.9.6 on Linux (Redhat 7.2) I think this bug should be reopened.
