Our current download windows have a number of issues: - They are very text-heavy and hard to parse - The distinction between the two kinds of windows feels very arbitrary from a user perspective - The window with more options requires lots of clicks to get a download going - The windows look dated in general Objective for this bug: - Create a design/flow that makes it clearer what is happening and ideally also reduces the number of clicks needed
There's some pre-existing work with a design for making these tab-modal, but we can probably improve the windows as an intermediate step. This definitely touches an outdated area of our code.
Mistakenly filed against Firefox 38 and should be instead 38 Branch. Sorry for the spam. dkl
Version: Firefox 38 → 38 Branch
Summary: [UX] Improve UI of the downloads dialog → [UX] Improve user flow and UI for file downloads
Adding a flow of how download currently works.
…and a possible improvement of the flow. (and adding cloud storage to the process.)
