A user in the SUMO forums is reporting that after a crash with his device, there is a "blank overlay" that appears on top of most applications. 

He is still able to navigate (scroll, tap, interact) with applications, but they are not useable since the user interface is not viewable.

According to the user, here are the applications affected -

Complete white overlay:
- All webapps (see image 6)
- searchgroups 
- browser (renders once, scrolling is not rendered) 
- settings (see last image) 
- gallery (see image 5) 
- sms (see image 3/4) 
- marketplace 
- firekey ( installed from marketplace) 
- search groups 
- calendar 
- youtube 
- here maps 
- notices

Partial white overlay: 
- phone app (tab of call list, tab of contacts, see image 1/2) typing pad is shown

not affected: 
- lock screen 
- camera app 
- music (got no music) 
- video 
- file browser 
- calculator 
- clock 
- network usage 
- radio

For tracking purposes -
The user from comment 0 required a factory reset + clear cache from recovery mode to restore his phone back to working condition.


USER'S VERBATIM:
"i wiped the cache and made a factory reset in recovery mode, which i reached by holding the volume-up + on/off button together on the turned off phone. this did the trick."
