slow when you first select an imap folder with a lot of messages

simon writes:

"downloading the contents of a IMAP folder for the first time is very slow
i think the reason is that for every message, you update the message count in
the UI (status bar)."

"the message total and unread (lower right in the window) count goes up in
increments of 1"

"it seems a lot slower than it used to be, but maybe that's a mac os X thing
too. it should be an easy kill; just update the UI on a timer, like you do for
the progress bar"

this might also be a problem with a pop3 inbox, or when building a summary file
for a local folder, I haven't tried.

it doesn't seem to be a problem for news, although we do update the status text
quite a bit, if you download speed is fast. (we could do it less.)
Attached patch proposed fixSplinter Review
I tweaked the folder loading code so that we don't display count notifications
until we've finished loading the folder, but we still display the folder
contents. I had to add a var which says whether to reroot the folder on the
folder loaded notification.
fix checked in.
