I have set my newsgroups to be sorted by Subject. However, when switching
between groups, headers are loaded incorrectly, and the list is not in subject
order. Selecting the acending/decending sort button above subject twice (ie
resort and then resort again), seem to solve this, so it appears that when
switching groups, the listing is not loaded/sorted correctly.
Seems to affect Re: messages mostly, but not always
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open mailnews
2. Select newsgroup sorted by subject
3. Browse other newsgroups
4. Come back to groups at some point in the future when new headers are availabe
and have been downloaded
5. Headers should be in sorted, alphabetical subject order, but some are out of
place
Actual Results: Headers are not sorted correctly by subject. Some are out of
place until resort.
Expected Results: Headers should be sorted / loaded correctly as per previously
specified by the user
This has been happening for about a week. I switched between news servers and
this started happening about the same time. I switched back and deleted all
config files and reset groups, but it still occurs.
This is fuctionality that was previously working correctly and now appears to be
broken, and is very annoying. It makes mail/news look very poor when it can't
even sort messages correctly, as this is very much "in your face" problem.
I experience the sort order beeing lost between sessions - but not always.
I suppose the sort order of a news group is lost as soon as a new session is
started AND new messages are downloaded. My settings are "View threads with
unread" only.

Tried this several times in a test newsgroup, sorting stays consistent for me,
marking WFM, reopen if this happens again.
