We need some low-fi design mockups to help get us started thinking about the fellowship site's look/feel. They should be substantially derived from MDN's look/feel and should include the header/footer already on MDN. They should help developers understand layout & typography and should help identify gaps where we need art.

Here is one possible approach to take with the design. We discussed this in our kickoff meeting this morning and agreed this approach is the most feasible approach if we want to keep to a Q1 site launch schedule. 

WRT art, I think placement can be tweaked; if someone has a better idea, alternatives are welcome. Here is the kind of image I think would work well there: https://www.flickr.com/photos/roland/10081117356

We agreed that art and copy will be _final_ by 2015-02-16. That is also a good date for the layout to be final, since final development and template integration will happen starting the following week.

I still like this approach. One piece of feedback: our call to action should at least rival "share this" for attention. I think "apply now" should probably be a big blue button as well.

Agreed. 

I may not have time this week to do anything more on the mockup. If I do I will make sure the branch is clean (it is clean now). 

For this bug, we are waiting on Diane to finalize copy and choose artwork for the slot identified in the mockup, and then we can finish coding. Stephanie will pick up wherever I leave off after this Friday.
