Created attachment 8560914 [details] French expired certificate warning. User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0 Build ID: 20150122214805 Steps to reproduce: Open Firefox on a PC that has a faulty RTC battery (date was set back to 1980). Actual results: Firefox refused to open the page stating that the certificate had expired, which is technical not true since it was the lower end date of validity that had not been reached. I don't know if the problem is just related to the French translation : Le certificat n'est pas sûr car le certificat de l'autorité l'ayant délivré a expiré. Le certificat ne sera pas valide jusqu'au 02/12/2013 01:00. Expected results: I would have written « n'est pas encore valable » (is not valid yet) instead of « a expiré » and « avant le » instead of « jusqu'au ».
"expired" is indeed the wrong wording and the only related bug that i could find is bug 712612
Hi, Can you test a recent nightly to see if you get a more appropriate error message? Bug 968560 should have fixed this. Thanks.
It's been nearly three months without a response, so I'm going to assume that Bug 968560 fixed this. Please re-open if this is not the case on the latest FF 38 build.
