Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0
Build ID: 20150204150446
Steps to reproduce:
Tried to play this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOr_fLGEIQs on 1080@60
I use current Linux Mint 64bits with current nightly on laptop with Intel HD4400 graphics.
Actual results:
Video playback stops very often displaying 'spinner'. At the same time line that shows how much was downloaded progresses far ahead - i.e. network speed is not a problem.
Looking at 'top' suggests that cpu performance is not an issue either - why video is frozen CPU consumption goes down.
It almost feels like 'player' thinks that there is not enough data downloaded to continue playing. At the same time there seems to be plenty of it.
Problem exhibits itself in 720@60 mode as well, but is less prominent.
Expected results:
Video should play without freezes.

This should be fixed in Firefox 43 and later. Are you still having this problem?
