See spec change at https://github.com/w3c/media-source/commit/7a495fe29540835d0e219d3d52f3041f556a1f7d We can keep returning a new object every time and just mark the attribute as [Cached], clearing the cache whenever the thing changes.
I have implemented buffered range cache in bug 1125581. which does exactly that (it's still a new object, but with the same content)
That's quite different from what this bug is about. This bug is about when the calling JS sees object identity change. It should only see it change when the actual time range data changes.
