When the youtube HTML5 is in focus the ctrl+w shortcut stops working. I'm assuming it hijacks it, but apparently it's not used at all. Since I see no effect of pressing ctrl+w when playing html5 videos I see no reason for it to break the most convenient shortcut for closing a tab. At first I thought it might be youtube's fault, but in IE and Chrome the shortcut works normally.
Hi avada, Which platform are you on and which version of Firefox?

Never mind, I was able to reproduce this on OSX.

Great. But since you asked I'm on windows 8.1 and everything from stable to central.
I might have seen this without video as well, though certainly not as a recent regression.

If this goes away when you click away from the plug-in, it's expected behavior. If it isn't reproducible in the nightly, it's likely a duplicate of bug 1137229.

I know how fubar-d the hotkeys are with plugins, but that's not the issue here. ( that's teenager bug 78414 so it won't ever change.)
Ctrl+w suddenly started working with 37b6 so I tested with central. It appears to be fixed there too. So I guess it was fixed by some patch recently.
