STR:

* make a recording

* click+drag select a smaller portion of the frame rate graph

* click hold the selection and start dragging it left/right. Note that the selection goes with it.

* Keeping the click down and inside the selection, drag left/right but with a little vertical movement so that you cross from the FPS graph to the trace events graph.

ER:

The selection keeps following your mouse drag

As soon as you cross from FPS to trace events graph, the selection stops moving and to start dragging it again, you have to re-click.
