User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0
Build ID: 20150122214805
Steps to reproduce:
I have done nothing.
Actual results:
Preferences.js are lost after 1-2 days of use on firefox. All the preferences are lost, like the home page settings, the download directory, application settings, etc.
Expected results:
Preferences should be kept.
Here is a screen shot of my firefox after it has been re-set. I have done a full clean install as well as a profile re-set. Neither do any good. There is a bug in incremental releases of firefox when this shows its ugly head.

How is the profile stored? Is it a network share, or a special file system, an SSD or something? Has anything crashed recently (or connection lost if on a network share)?
Keywords: dataloss
Summary: preferences → prefs.js is lost after 1-2 days of use of firefox.
The profile is stored where Firefox is installed by default.
No network share.
No special file system.
No SSD.
Nothing has crashed recently or connection lost.
I am also running Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit if that makes a difference.

Abi, please don't move bugs that have already been closed out.
Component: JavaScript Engine: JIT → Untriaged
Product: Core → Firefox
I am a little confused here now. So this is showing as resolved but yet incomplete? And also now closed? Per Whiteboard?
I am not woring about this any more. I have moved on.
