Why do you propose installing a software which is in beta status on a production wiki?

This is already on our radar for consideration.

I thought we already had a bug on it, but apparently not.

Got a version of this working locally and I think it will be possible in production.

I wasn't able to install VisualEditor via git because the REL1_23 branch includes a submodule commit that doesn't exist any longer. Downloading from the extension distributor worked, however.

Parsoid (nodejs) is also a dependency, but was able to install from wmf-provided Ubuntu package.

Yes, we'll get this on the dev server sometime in q2 and let folks know when it's ready for testing.

It appears that this is not happening at this time, as Wikimo is operating mostly in security maintenance mode and has limited owner time available. Wikimo owner(s), you are welcome to reopen this in the future and coordinate with the Wikimo operators to test and deploy the new extension if/when that's desired.
