Right now local communities are created as subcategories to Local communities category.

AFAIK discourse doesn't allow sub-sub-categories.

We can start you off with a regular community sub-category, then if that gets too busy we can bump you up to a regular category.

Our aim was to replace communication on mailing list where we have ~250 post monthly with more categorized discussions by functional areas. Having only sub-category doesn't solve our problem. We would also like to manage which categories are private and not publicly viewed and indexed by search engines (talks about budget, collaborations with other organizations that don't wish to have their info publicly shared, campings that need to be private, before we relase them for public, etc) where we can discussion.

We would need Mozilla Slovenia category with 1 general subcategory and 5 categories for functional areas (Marketing, Localication, Design, Website, User support).

Yousef is that possible?

Apologies for the long wait - I'm happy with this. With regards to making categories private you'd have to file a bug/let us know on IRC; Discourse doesn't yet support per-category administration.

Tanner, can you get this created? If not assign to me but there may be a small delay.

I've created the categories, but they all have similar descriptions. Feel free to reply to this bug or the 'About this category' posts themselves with the descriptions you want, and I'll update them.
