We are currently on South v0.8.4. The current version is v1.0.2. The main thing we need from this upgrade is the support for having South migrations in south_migrations/ so that the new django migrations can live in migrations/. This should make upgrading to django 1.7 easier, so then we can ditch South altogether. Upgrading involves two things: 1. updating South requirements/default.txt file to 1.0.2 2. changing all the "migrations" directories to "south_migrations" For reference, the input bug to update South was bug 900992.
