Steps to reproduce:

I'm just using Thunderbird (Version 31.4.0, first offered to Release channel users on January 13, 2015) and it happens. 


Actual results:

On my work computer, on my friends Laptop and on my home Mac i have the same problem. In my inbox i have Non-existent unread messages!
I'm trying to filter them - and nothing!


Expected results:

Fix it please!

If you scroll down to the very end of that folder's message list, are there any unread messages listed? (Wondering if they are just not on the top in that filtered view, but at the bottom.)

No, in the end there's no unread messages :( I can click on filter again to filer ASC and DESC, scrolling up and down, and non of unread messages there.
I try to repair folder in preferences - nothing
i try to organize folder - nothing

And whats more the number od unread messages continues to grow.

odd. do you still see this problem when using version 38?
if not, had you done something to fix this?

It looks "actual Inbox folder of an account" in View/Folders=Unified.

Phenomenon of confusing "accumulated unread count" even in View/Folders=Unified?
What count is shown when View/Folders=All and account/folder is collapsed/expanded?
