In https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=try&revision=a20ce472c93b (and friends, he pushed that patch quite a bit), I cancelled spidermonkey shell build jobs because they had been running for 1640 minutes.

Nice sane polite jobs kill themselves at some point well before they have been running for 27 hours.
I notice this leaves the sleep process lying around, but I suppose it doesn't matter.
